Auto Alignment

RPS can auto align shape files, mapinfo files or kml files over geospatial data provided by the road authority

For collection of data for a network, the easiest method of alignment is to use a geospatial data set from the road authority. We are able to load many different geospatial data forms, including shape files, mapinfo files or kml files. This data should have a polyline which describes each road or road segment (as well as start and end chainage if chainage alignment is required).

Alignment example

Example of aligning the scanned road to customer provided segments. A scan is broken into a number of different segments based on the provided geospatial data file, allowing segment/road/chainage based reporting without the need for any manual intervention.
